A local biodiesel retail outlet which blends regular diesel with waste cooking oils and the waste from rotational crops is currently being investigated. The WISEgroup is talking with commercial partners and council to identify a potential site with good freeway access.
If a site can be identified and a no-risk business case is developed, WISE may auspice this project. A profit share would be dedicated to the Community Sustainability Fund.
The next movie is How to save the world: One Man, One Cow, One Planet (104 mins) which will be shown on Tuesday 8 May, 7.30pm, upstairs at the Victoria Hotel, Woodend. Enjoy a meal before or during the movie if you like. This is a popular night and encourages discussion and debate.
