MR VEG
MR VEG
A new initiative within the Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group was launched in September 2011, the
Macedon Ranges Vegetarian Eating Group – or MR VEG for short!
This group is open to anyone interested in the experience of vegetarian food and all the social, health, environmental, and culinary issues raised by this. (You do not have to be a vegetarian to participate, just interested in vegetarian food).
The group generally meets once a month to have a vegetarian meal together, exchange ideas and recipes. We also put on a vegetarian supper to go with the Movies that Matter in November.
We organized the MRSG food stall for the Macedon Ranges Sustainable Living Festival on February 11. Thank you to all the volunteers who made it happen. The menu was lentil burgers with fresh rolls and home made tomato sauce, spicy falafel wraps with salad and home made cakes made by the many members of MRSG, MR VEG and friends. A very successful day.
You can find events advertised here on the MRSG website and in our regular newsletters. Or feel free to contact Ruth or Patrick Hodgson (54271604) or email mrveg@mrsgonline.com.au for more details or enquiries. We can put you on our Mr Veg distribution list.
This should be the start of a great tradition of sharing terrific vegetarian food and creating awareness in the Macedon Ranges community of the issues about how we choose to eat.
Monthly meetings have included themes:
French
Cambodian
Barbecue
Latin American
Hungarian, May 4
Next vego evening is soon to be announced.
