Next Woodend Community Farmer’s Market -

December 29th, 2011 by peter

SATURDAY 2 June  2012, 9 am – 1 pm on the corner of High St and Forest Street next to the Woodend Community Centre. The market holds plenty of fresh produce, wines, eggs, honey, organic beef, preserves, puddings, plants, fund raising barbecue and other hot food.  Take a walk, bring your bags, chat to  friends and you will be sure to run into your neighbours.  Produce Exchange is at 9am on the same day near the bluestone wishing well or ask an MRSG member (they have name tags). The produce exchange is where you bring in your bounty from your garden or any garden  items like tools/compost/ worm juice/apple pie the list is endless and you take away something from other peoples gardens in exchange.   It’s fun and you learn as you exchange ideas in the process.  A community country experience.

This market has taken a lot of work to get up and running over the last 2 years and the committee is extremely pleased with its  success since its inception in December 2011. We hope that even more people will realise the affordability and convenience of the local farmers providing  locally made and grown produce here in the middle of Woodend. The Woodend Community Farmers Market is always on the first Saturday of the month.

Thank you to Meggs Hannes-Paterson, Fleur Tysoe and Ralf Thesing for their tireless workto get the Market off the ground.
